As executive editor of LOLA Magazine for its first five issues, I am extremely proud of this project and its vision, which is to celebrate the present and future of Berlin's cultural landscape through the people and stories that make it such an exciting place to live.

The content in LOLA – both print and online – covers cultural contributors such as musicians, directors, artists, entrepreneurs, community leaders and more.

Features I have written include:

Sara Jordenö

An interview with the director of Berlinale-winning documentary KIKI as she visited Berlin for the festival.

Pansy

An interview with drag queen, house mother, and pillar of the community Pansy – aka Parker Tilghman – about how her passion for drag has turned her into a driving force behind Berlin's scene.

Bruce LaBruce

The reluctant pornographer and provocative architect of queercore opened up about his early experiences in radical filmmaking and the pleasure he takes in being misunderstood by audiences.

Berlinstagram

A short interview with Michael Schultz about how his Instagram account made him an unofficial ambassador for Berlin.

Thomas von Wittich

Berlin's intrepid street photographer talked with me about his project following the Berlin Kidz crew, and what it was like to scale buildings and climb moving trains to document their art.

Cher Nobyl

A short, fun, quick-fire interview with local drag queen and personality where she revealed her magnetic humour and why she doesn't cry.
